The state of Michigan is an ongoing project that seeks to examine and document the changing economic climate in State of Michigan. This investigation began by focusing on institutions that are a vital part of any functioning society, including schools, libraries, and public safety entities. The slow disappearance of these institutions over the last decade and rapid closures as of late has led me to begin documenting the more recent shuttered schools, libraries, post offices, police and fire stations throughout the State. As the project continues the scope is widening to include the reactions, effects and consequences present in the community and personal landscape.  The aim of this body of work is to further examine both emerging and changing systems of value in found in economic, political, social and cultural spheres.
