The photographic discipline has a natural connection to investigative techniques that I employ when examining and documenting various value systems present in our culture and society. Although my subjects of investigation change, highlighting how systems of value influence and alter how a subject is perceived and operates remains an integral part of the work. To assist me in researching how value systems function in relation to a particular subject, I often embody certain roles by entering different fields of study. Some of these roles have included adopting the practices and methods of an archivist, historian, linguist, forger and investigator. These roles and methods often influence my aesthetic decisions and revel themselves in the final body of work.
