I. Correspondence
Below is a series of correspondence from 2008-2009. They are records of inquiries conducted about the missing Rembrandt. The E-mails are arranged chronologically.
" I know this is reaching far back in your memory, but I am trying to locate Rembrandt's 100 Guilder print. I found a 1989 correspondence referencing that the two Dürer prints and the Rembrandt were to be sent out for conservation. I have on file that the Dürer prints went out to the DIA for treatment and were returned in Nov. 1990. But I cannot find any information on the Rembrandt after the 1988 inventory. Do you have any recollection of what happened to this piece? Any information would be greatly appreciated."

"I've known this has been a problem, but I was never able to solve it.
The last location that I knew the prints were in was a storage closet on the second floor of ________. They were in a solander box...I think. I have no recollection of them after that...I'm sorry. I know how difficult it is to keep things "tied down" there. Gook luck with the search." |
"Thanks for your quick response! When you say the "storage closet" do you mean the silver vault on the second floor to the left as you come up the stairs? And are you saying that they were there throughout your tenure and that you knew of them missing after you left? I am trying to nail down a time frame so I have somewhere to start looking."
